About

Courtney Romcke

Born near Sydney Australia, Courtney spent her younger years travelling around the world with her parents work. During some time spent in Cornwall, Courtney attended a local school where horse riding was offered as an extra curricular activity. From then on the riding bug had taken a firm hold. Begging for riding lessons whenever time allowed between travels.

Settling in New Zealand at the age of 12 provided Courtney with much more opportunity to involve herself in the horsey world.  Joining pony club and the purchase of her first pony soon followed. Throughout the next few years she gained success at local shows and progressed to winning 2 national titles in pony hunter jumping.

With eventing quickly becoming her central focus, the step up to horses was made. She built up a small team of horses and progressed through the levels. By the time she reached 3* Courtney decided it was time to set her sights abroad.

Moving to the UK In 2015 and taking with her Destino Bello(Fred) her most promising young event horse, Courtney gained a great deal more experience freelance riding and  working on a stud farm breaking and producing a large number of young sports horses. Along side her work she continued to produce Fred through to 4*.

Now stepping out on her own and setting up Hebden farm on the lovely Badminton Estate as her base, Courtney is focused on running her yard and producing her team of promising horses to be future stars of eventing.
